One month into the final cleanup

I thought it was probably time for an update, given today marks exactly one month since I announced I was restarting my healing for a final cleanup of the BXO skin on the underside of my penis.

I've been using a combination of talcum powder, Creme Complete, and just ultra paranoid drying after urination. Talcum powder is my favourite treatment, for several reasons.

First, because it dries the skin out. Secondly, it helps identify peeling. The edges of the peeling seem to show up much more clearly when you apply a layer of white powder. It's nice to be able to confirm that your efforts are actually working.

The third benefit to using talcum powder is that it gives you a gauge of how dry you are keeping yourself. It starts off white, but if you get any urine on your glans or any other part of the skin, you will quickly see the white washes off. It's a good target to keep the whole thing white, and also gives you a good alarm that it has become dry, and you need to work to remove any liquid.

The Creme Complete is still an effective, itch-free treatment. I have no idea why I used to itch so much after using it, and I certainly have no idea why I no longer do! But it's good that I can tolerate it again.

Keeping any treatment on overnight is difficult, due to nocturnal erections and just general movement in bed. I wear underwear to bed, but when I lie on my front I place pressure on my genital area, which causes whatever treatment I applied at night to rub against my underwear. There's no solution I can think of, but I'm not that worried. Because dryness is dryness. Talcum powder and creme complete all provide benefits, but as I've said before, I'm still not certain whether results come from treatments, or the simple fact that I'm removing urine before it has a chance to settle.

The other thing I've been using again is a magnifying glass. This makes the peeling much more apparent. Today, while the peeling was less than it has been on some days lately, what was most pleasing was to note peeling in areas I haven't seen it before.

In the last month, I've reminded myself of how painfully slow recovery from BXO really is. I'm just glad it's the finishing touches I'm seeking, and not fundamental basic use of my penis, as was the case many years back.
