What do you all think about an eBook?

I'm still here, and as those who comment will know, I still come here quite often. I love reading all your comments and chiming in with my two cents where I can.

It's occurred to me that a lot of people that come here see me as a bit of an authority on this subject. I'm a recovered BXO sufferer, who has overcome this disease mostly on his own, and using over-the-counter products and habit changes.

The natural treatment of BXO is something that potentially belongs in an eBook of some kind. I realise that it's quite a rare disease in men so this ebook wouldn't exactly become a #1 best seller. However, this blog has a few flaws.

First, there are a LOT of pages. It would take someone a very long time to sift through them all. And the context of where they are at in the recovery may not be the same as the point I was at in the post they read.

Secondly, like a scientist (I'm not actually a scientist) I spent my time proving myself wrong when writing this blog. Someone who only read the first couple of months' posts would miss out on the later discoveries I made, or un-made.

I just feel like a short, well-organised publication might be more helpful to others than this blog alone. There will, of course, be a price tag on it. But it probably won't be much.

Let me know your thoughts.

  1. Hi, I think an E-book is a great idea! And with the blog it would be a complete information source for all the sufferers. I remember when I found your blog I was shocked that such information source exists. Honestly I love it that there is so much content in here, and all the knowledge spread on the timeline of all the post really gives a perspective how long does it take to heal. Also in the time of some emotional breakdowns it just gave me metal help to read about your ups and downs knowing the final result. But of course the finding the right set of tools for a daily routine takes time. If the blog could be complemented with a book telling people what options are on hand, how to use each option, information that you have to find out what works for you ect. that would be great! I think that informagtion about some problems that you can face along the way would be also great. My recent problem was an awful itch, that i now now was caused by overusing the tea tree oil (it never gave me aby adverse effects, so I was using s lot of it). My pennis got swollen very much, and I was super affraid that my lichen is active again. Now after visiting my dermatologist I know that it is a contact dermatosis, and after 1 week of stopping the use of the Tea Tree Oil the Itch is nearly gone!.

The last thing I wanted to say is that the best combination for the guaranteed healing is in my opinion finding a dermatologist with an open mind. I am visiting mine regularly, and I never used any steroids during my healing process. Of course the doctor perscribed them but I openly said that I would like to try the natural methods first and consult the progress with her regularly. And now I am on the road to fully healing, and it's confirmed by a western medicine specialist. You should always be curious and search for options!

So - the blog saved my life (and I am 100% serious, because I was kinda suicidal when I heard what I am dealing with), but the e-book would be a super convinient.

For all the sufferers I just hope that each person dealing with this problem finds your site! without it I would be on steroids, panically affraid of the recurrence and all the adverse side effects.

    Thank you so much!

    Tom

  2. Agreed, a book that summarises the journey, dos and don'ts, and keys to (your own) success sounds fantastic

  3. I recently discovered your blog! i am not a religious person but god bless you. This is such a foul disease to be dealing with. I am terrified at what is can progress to, and i'm seriously beginning to follow all the natural remedies i have come across here. I posted in the Homeopathy forum where i first discovered your blog. Thank you greaneyr!

How has your progress been? I notice you have not made any updates in 2020 are you in remission? it has given me hope in managing this strange and terrifying issue. I'm 25yo and have had BXO for about 3 years. First it was a phimosis ring around the foreskin, which i managed to clear with a steroid cream. Now however the discoloration has returned and spread to the glans (mostly around urethra opening). After a trip to a urologist, he just prescribed another round of steroid ointment. Based on my research, this just helps keep the BXO at bay, or slow the progression. I am desperately trying to heal myself in anyway- as i am terrified at the prospects of this developing further. This has definitely taken a toll on my mental health- meditation helps manage .

I have changed my diet to exclude dairy, all sugars, and limit carbs. Don't smoke, and have decreased alcohol consumption.

I keep my foreskin retracted to keep the affected regions dry as much as possible, and always pat down after urination.

I have been taking for about a week based on the recommendations in the thread, and intend to try applying TTO as recommended, and mixing with DMSO if TTO alone is not doing anything after a few weeks.

Is there anyway to contact you? I know you were considering making an ebook i would pay my entire life savings for an easy to follow process, since im pretty overwhelmed with the information online. Hope you see this!

    1. Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I am most definitely in remission. I think I'm probably about as clear of BXO as I'm ever going to be. I have full sexual function, and unless any slightly paler skin was pointed out, nobody would have any idea that I ever had the disease in the first place.

I found diet changes didn't really make any difference. But in saying that, healing from this disease is so slow that it's very difficult to gauge whether any treatment works any faster than another. The dietary changes you've made will be really good for your mental health, mind you, so stick to them by all means.

I never tried the TTO + DMSO mixture. I found TTO effective on its own, but also found nothing but dryness to be particularly effective as well.

Are you on Reddit, by any chance? I have an account there, and we could chat if you wanted to ask some more questions.

I decided against the ebook in the end. Mainly because I value my anonymity, and I couldn't think of a way to publish and charge without my name being identified at some point along the way. There's also the issue of me potentially giving medical advice despite not being trained as a physician. Plus, as time goes on and I become more convinced that dryness is really all you need to heal from this, I have started to lose faith in many of the other treatments. I'm not saying they did any harm, but I'm also not certain they did much at all. I didn't want to raise people's hopes and have them spend $10s or $100s on treatments that realistically we no more effective than just keeping the area dry and being extremely patient.
